Korle-Bu has no Ebola case

Authorities at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday said no case of Ebola has been detected at the facility.

Mr Mustapha Salifu, Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, dismissed in a statement that rumours that an in-patient in one of its clinical facilities had been diagnosed with the Ebola virus were not true.

He said the Hospital was taking all the necessary precautions to safeguard its in-patients from any infection and gave the assurance that "Korle Bu is safe". Mr Salifu appealed to the media to be circumspect in their reportage to prevent any unnecessary fear in patients and members of the public.

Accra, Jul 31, GNA - Authorities at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday said no case of Ebola has been detected at the facility. Mr Mustapha Salifu, Public Relations Officer of the Hospital in a press release therefore dismissed rumours that an in-patient at one of its clinical facilities had been diagnosed with the Ebola virus.

He said the authorities are aware of this rumour, but assured the public that the story was untrue. He said the Hospital was taking all the necessary precautions to safeguard its in-patients from any infection.

Mr Salifu encouraged the public and all patients of the Hospital to be rest assured that "Korle Bu is safe".

He further indicated that the Hospital Management would also be grateful if the media would be circumspect in their reportage to prevent any unnecessary fear in patients and members of the public.
