Korang Evelyn wins Eastern Regional Council of State election

Korang Evelyn, a seasoned politician and strong advocate for women's empowerment, has emerged victorious in the highly contested Eastern Region Council of State representative election.

She secured 17 votes out of the 24 aspirants, with 66 delegates drawn from all municipal and district assemblies participating in the election.

The Eastern Regional Coordinating Council was filled with excitement and joy as delegates and supporters of Mrs. Korang Evelyn celebrated her victory.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Korang Evelyn expressed gratitude to the delegates for the confidence reposed in her.

She pledged to work tirelessly to promote development in the region and thanked all the delegates for granting her the opportunity to serve in this prestigious position.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Akosua Adjei Awatey, congratulated Mrs. Korang Evelyn on her victory and urged her to use her new position to champion women's causes and drive regional development.

The Regional Police Command played a crucial role in ensuring the security and safety of all participants during the election. The Command has been commended for its professionalism and commitment to maintaining peace and order.

As a Council of State member, Mrs. Korang Evelyn is expected to advise the President on matters of national interest and represent the views and concerns of the Eastern Region at the national level.

The NDC in the Eastern Region is confident that Mrs. Korang Evelyn will leverage her experience, knowledge, and skills to foster development, progress, and unity. The party has pledged its full support and expressed readiness to collaborate with her to achieve its goals for the region.

The Eastern Region remains a key political battleground in Ghana, and the NDC is determined to win the hearts and minds of its people. With Mrs. Korang Evelyn’s election to the Council of State, the party is optimistic about its prospects in the 2028 general elections.
