Konadu Apraku, Ben Asante scramble for Ghana Gas job

Former Trade Minister Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku and an Energy consultant at the Energy ministry Dr. Ben Asante are scrambling for the top post at the Ghana Gas Company limited, StarrFMonline.com has learnt.

Sources in government have told StarrFMonline.com that until recently, Dr. Asante, who is a former director of the company, was the sole candidate being considered for the job, which was occupied by Dr. Sipa Yankey.

A statement from corporate communications manager of Ghana Gas, Alfred Ogbamey stated that Dr. Yankey, is set to proceed on terminal leave, effective February 1 and terminating in May 2017.

Mr. Ogbamey, said Dr. Yankey leaves behind an inspirational legacy of overseeing the conception, birth and growth of Ghana’s premier natural gas processing company.

“He has led the pioneering of Ghana Gas from its incorporation in July 2011 through its successful implementation of Phase I of the Western Corridor Gas Infrastructure Development Project (WCGIDP), to the processing and supply of “First Gas” to the Volta River Authority (VRA) beginning 1:45 pm, Monday, November 24, 2014”, he said.
