Kojo Bamba breaks silence after missing first NPP leadership meeting

New Patriotic Party (NPP) First Vice Chairman-elect, Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo “Bamba,” has explained why he was absent when the party’s newly elected national leadership held its first meeting.

In a video shared on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb on October 7, 2026, Kojo Bamba noted that he had other engagements that equally required his attention.

According to Kojo Bamba, he was informed about the meeting with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. However, due to his other engagement, he sought permission from the party’s leadership to be excused.

Kojo Bamba further explained that there is no bad blood between him and the newly elected leadership of the party, contrary to speculations circulating on social media.

“I had other engagements; that was why I couldn’t attend the meeting. I was aware of the meeting because I was informed.

“I asked for permission from the leadership, and I was permitted. So there is no bad blood between the leadership and me,” he said.

The newly elected First Vice Chairman additionally debunked speculations on social media that he is at loggerheads with the party’s Second Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B.

According to him, Nana B has been a close associate, and the two have never had an altercation throughout their 10 years of working together.

“Some of you are also saying that I have an issue with Nana B. I want you people to know that I don’t have any issue with Nana B. In fact, I have worked with him for about 10 years now, and we haven’t once argued.

“Before the delegate conference, we went our separate ways because we were all focused on campaigning, but after the conference, I called him and Nana Akomea... So there is no problem between us,” he added.
