Koforidua Technical University student writing exams dies

A level 200 student of Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has died after she took ill during the end of semester examination on Monday, May 13, 2019.

The body of the deceased, Olivia Sakyi, has been deposited at the Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua.

Information gathered indicates the Hospitality and Management Department student went out of the exams hall to seek medical attention at the Campus Clinic but was referred to the Regional Hospital where she passed on.

Preliminary medical report indicates she died of high blood pressure.

It is yet to be established if the condition was triggered by examination stress and panic as being speculated by her mates.

The President of the Students Representative Council (SRC), Raphael Kobla Elorm Dzivenu, confirmed the incident to Kasapa News.

He said the entire student body is saddened by the unfortunate passing of Olivia.

The incident has deepened the grieve in the University having been hit with the deaths of a final year student of Diploma in Business Studies and a security officer a week ago.
