Eastern regional minister, Antwi Bosiako Sekyere has revealed that the Koforidua-Bunso road has been awarded on contract which would soon see a facelift. He said 15% of the total amount of thirty-two million cedis cost has already been paid to enable the contractor secure equipments and materials to start the start work.
Honourable Bosiako Sekyere was speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people of Akyem Tafo in the Abuakwa north constituency to climax this year's ohumkan festival and the 30th anniversary of osaberima Adusei Peasah lV.
" contract has been awarded for the reconstruction of Koforidua-Bunso road at a cost of 32million cedis as well as other cocoa roads like Akyem Sekyere-Abakoase, Osenase-Akwatia and Kyebi town roads " he stated.
He also urged ghanaians to have hope in the government as measures are in place to curb the energy crises facing the country currently.
Mr. Bosiako Sekyere therefore assured the people in the region that government will always seek for the welfare of ghanaians at all times.
Chief of Akyem Tafo, osaberima Adusei Peasah lV in his speech was grateful to his people for supporting him throughout his thirty years on the stool. He pledged to initiative projects that will bring development to the community.
He however expressed worry about "pull him down" attitude that has characterised some of the people and called for unity at all times.
Mr. Andrews Nuamah who was the planning committee chairman was grateful to all those who supported the celebration and also appealed to all citizens living outside the community to return back home and assist the development agenda of the chief during such season.
