Renowned radio presenter Kofi Kum Bilson has publicly endorsed Chief of Staff Julius Debrah as the ideal candidate to succeed President John Dramani Mahama, whose term concludes on January 7, 2029.

During his popular broadcast, the award-winning host, typically reserved about political discussions, passionately argued that Julius Debrah is uniquely qualified to assume the presidency after Mahama.

Kofi Kum Bilson highlighted Debrah’s distinguished political career, emphasising his ability to steer clear of controversy while embodying professionalism, humility, and patriotism.

Kofi Kum Bilson asserted that these qualities position Debrah as the strongest contender to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 elections.

“As President Mahama completes his second term, new leaders will emerge within the NDC. Among them, I firmly believe Julius Debrah stands out. His political journey reflects a deliberate and visionary approach, as if he has long prepared for the presidency,” Bilson remarked.

He further noted that under intense scrutiny, Debrah’s record would remain unblemished, unlike other potential candidates whose controversies might surface.

“When the lens of scrutiny is applied, many new faces may falter, but Julius Debrah will emerge unscathed. The NDC has a gem in Debrah, while the NPP has its own contender who has faced similar scrutiny,” he added.

Although Julius Debrah has not formally declared his intention to contest the NDC flagbearer position, his name has gained significant traction as a leader capable of sustaining the party’s substantial gains from the 2024 elections.
