Kofi Awuah optimistic of winning GTA

One of the four young students nominated for the upcoming Ghana Tertiary Awards (GTA) for the most influential student in film making category, has said he had all it takes to win the award.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency(GNA) in an interview, Kofi Awuah, a level 200 student of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), said he had worked tirelessly in diverse aspects of film-making to produce feature length movies, music videos and skits to be shown on television stations and at the NAFTI Preview Theater.

Awuah, winner of the 2015 NAFTI Rector ’s Award for ‘Best Film, ’ known for his films “The key” and “1801, ” has been nominated with three other film makers; Prince Dovlo, Kofi Asamoah of Kofas Media, and Arnold in the same category.

Awuah has about 200 music videos, three serial movies, three feature length films, and a couple of comedy sketches to his credit.

He also has comedy sketches, ‘Abena Wahala’ and ’Mischiefs of Kofi Babone’ trending son GTV and TV3.

Awuah also directed the music video for Guru’s “Azonto Sisters”, Yungbeatz’s “Roll that thing”, Obrafuor and Sarkodie’s “Okodie”.

He was the cinematographer for the comedy “Kalybos in China “and Kobby Rana’s “The Table”.

The Ghana Tertiary Awards has been slated for November 6 at the National Theater, giving awards for 25 categories.
