Gabby Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said Ghana produced a quintessential diplomat extraordinaire in the person of the late former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.

The Ghanaian diplomat died in Berne, Switzerland on Saturday 18 August 2018, at the age of 80.

In a tweet, Mr Otchere-Darko said: “…Kofi Annan was the quintessential diplomat extraordinaire and he was all made in Ghana.”

Meanwhile former President John Dramani Mahama has eulogised the late Kofi Annan.

According to Mr Mahama, Mr Annan “lived and worked for global peace, security and sustainable development in very challenging times”.

He sees the former world leader as “a proud son of Ghana and Africa”.
