First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has extended her condolences to the families of those who died and sustained injuries in the Kintampo Waterfall accident that occurred on Sunday 19 March, killing 18 people.

Out of the 18 people who lost their lives, 15 of them were students from the Wenchi Methodist Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mrs Akufo-Addo tweeted: “My heartfelt condolence goes out to the families and loved ones of the tragedy at the Kintampo Falls. May God's good grace cover us all.”




Meanwhile, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed sadness over the accident.
According to the vice president, government will await the outcome of the investigation into the cause of the disaster and take the next line of action.

He made these remarks when he visited the victims of the incident and to mourn with the bereaved families on behalf of the president on Monday, March 20.

“We have lost 18 young men and women at the prime of their lives who were in school trying to make a difference to their lives; we have lost them under very tragic circumstances. We will allow the necessary investigations to go on as we see what we can do for the affected families,” he noted.
