Kids for Christ International, a non-profit organization has appealed to faith-based organizations, Public and Non-Governmental organizations to support them to carry out their core mandate of taking care of orphans and street children, especially during the yuletide.

“We believe everyone is planning to celebrate Christmas with their families and friends, and deciding on the gifts you will buy for your kids. We plead with you not to forget the orphans and street children who have no one to care for them.”

Mr Maxwell Amoani, Chief Executive Officer of the Project who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said his outfit was planning to feed 2000 children at the Mantse Agbonna park at Jamestown, Accra on December 26, this year.

He said the project, which is christened “DARE TO CARE” is intended to encourage families, communities and external parties to treat all orphans, street children and all vulnerable children with respect and love. “Our community outreach programme, which will be done three-days to the event day, will hold an interaction session with communities to identify their needs.”

Mr Amoani who attributed growing number of street children and orphans to poverty and teenage pregnancies said his outfit would partner other philanthropists to bring smiles to about 2000 of them during the Christmas festivities.

He said the research team of his organisation would create a data out of the outreach programme to support families that were in dire need. The Chief Executive Officer therefore called on Christian organisations, corporate entities, philanthropists, government institutions and individuals to support them to achieve their goals.

Beneficiaries of the project he said would include; orphanages within the greater Accra region, street kids of Jamestown and other surrounding communities.
