Kidnapped Canadian girls: I know the suspect – NDC Chairman ‘confesses’

Suspect Seidu Yakubu Mba who has been arrested among eight others for playing a role in the kidnapping of the two Canadian girls has been accused of being an opportunist.

Former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Yaw Owusu Bimpeh he knows the accused years back when he [Yaw Owusu Bimpeh] was youth organizer for NDC in 1992 till he became Regional Chairman of the party in the Ashanti Region.

“I know Seidu Yakubu. He is neither NPP nor NDC. He always bumps into our political activities”, Mr. Yaw Owusu Bimpeh revealed on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com following allegations that Seidu is a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Meanwhile, Pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP), vigilante group, Delta Force has dissociated itself from Asante Kotoko’s notorious supporter, Seidu Yakubu Mba as a member of the group.

Earlier reports suggested that the suspect who has been arrested alongside seven others for various roles played in the kidnapping of two Canadian women, Lauren Tilley and Bailey Chitty, 19 and 20 years respectively have reunited with their families.

But a statement issued by the leadership of Delta Force signed by Mohammed Seidu stated “The Delta Force Group in the Ashanti Region would like to state unequivocally that the said culprit (Seidu), has never been a member of our group and he’s not part of us. Consequently, the group, thus, distances itself from the conduct and operations of this man called Seidu”
