Kennedy Agyapong Takes On IGP, EC Boss

THE Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong, has accused the IGP, Paul Tawiah Quaye, of being biased.

He has therefore criticised the IGP for the unprofessional behaviour exhibited by him during and after the December 7, 2012, general elections.

The outraged MP said the IGP, instead of displaying neutrality, especially in matters involving the two leading political parties—the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC)—rather chose to side with the ruling NDC.

Mr. Agyapong stated that Mr. Quaye was among the two persons in Ghana, currently, whose actions could throw the country into turmoil.

The Assin North MP mentioned the Electoral Commission (EC) boss, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, as the other person, who, through his bad deeds, could plunge the country into civil strife if care was not taken.

He alleged on Hello FM during an interview that Dr. Afari-Gyan had misconducted himself as the EC boss during the recently held elections, which posed great threat to Ghana’s security.

According to him, the cheating that went in favour of the NDC in the presidential polls, occurred at the regional collation centres and the EC headquarters in Accra of which Dr. Afari- Gyan was aware.

The Assin North law maker alleged that most of the results of the elections from the various constituencies were massaged at the EC headquarters to aid the NDC to win.

He stated that despite his no-nonsense nature “I am not a violent person,” adding that what he hated most was cheating, which was the order of the day during the 2012 elections.

Mr. Agyapong described himself as an upright person who would not allow things that he would not wish to be done to him to be done against his fellow human beings.

He insisted that he would never act or behave in a manner that could disturb the peace and unity of Ghana, pointing out that the same could not be said about the two public officials he had earlier cited.
