Ken Agyepong Threatens To Resign And ...

Reveal Dirty Party Secrets

By Gifty Arthur

The foulmouthed New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North has threatened to resign as an MP should members of his party continue to insult him for apologizing to President John Mills.

“If they dare me I will step down, I will step down as an MP. I will not die for NPP, I will die for Ghana”, Mr. Kennedy Kwame Agyepong said.

He has again warned that he will not hesitate to reveal secrets and bombshells of his beloved NPP if they continue to treat him “like a nobody”.

“I am telling them if they dare me the things I will say in this country, I am not a fool”. The MP was registering his utmost displeasure about the way and manner some NPP party members jumped at him for his decision to render an unqualified apology to President Mills after labeling him as “a first class thief,” who will be jailed after the NPP assumes power in 2013.

Mr. Agyepong has stated on a number of platforms that he respected President Mills, hence he has refrained from attacking him personally.

The attack on him from his party, in the wake of his decision to apologize to President Mills, has not gone down well with him, as he expected his party to start the process of curbing “the politics of insults” in Ghana.

It will be recalled that when the NPP organized its rally in Accra, christened “Gargantuan Rally’ at Mantse Agbona, the MP in the presence of the party’s flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo and former President John Kufour, tagged President Mills as a thief for supervising the fraudulent payment of GH¢51 Million to businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome for no work done.

But the MP, who has been described by his colleague MP’s as ‘Radio MP’, speaking to the Tema-based Adom FM recently, rendered a partial apology to the President, adding that his pastor friend drew his attention to his unacceptable behavior on the rally ground, where he was charged by party supporters to throw mud at the NDC.

According to him, after his much publicized apology, some NPP fanatics have taken exception to his action thereby raining insults at him for taken that decision.

“I can’t allow anybody to insult me. I am not afraid of anybody, i am telling them,” the microphone-happy MP fired. In an interview with Happy FM, an Accra-based radio station, last week, the MP, who is noted for insulting his opponents at the least opportunity, poured out his anger and frustration about the harsh treatment he has been receiving from the party, warning that he will not allow himself to be used and dumped as and when the party likes.

The MP was peeved as to why he together with some party people will plan to do something but when there is a problem, then they all take cover making him look bad in the eyes of the public.

“So the NPP cannot use me as a stooge and betray me. When we plan and I speak about it then they distance themselves and leave me to be insulted. I am nobody’s houseboy and I can never be”, he said.

In a very angry mood, Mr. Agyapong, who has consistently been in the news for some time now, bragged that he needed not to worry himself for any political power, as even in opposition, he has several investments which he can depend on for life, unlike his accusers, who can’t even employ a total of thousand workers.

“Even in opposition I am very comfortable, I have so many investments that bring me money. Why am I worrying myself in this world?” he said angrily.
