The campaign team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, has warned some allies of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, demanding an end to what it describes as “personal attacks” from the latter’s surrogates.

In a statement released on Thursday, October 2, 2025, the Agyapong campaign condemned remarks made by Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as “KOKA,” a well-known supporter of Dr Bawumia, during a broadcast on Wontumi Television, against Kennedy Agyapong.

According to the statement signed by Communications Director, Kwaku Amoh-Darteh, KOKA’s comments amounted to “vicious and unprovoked attacks” on Agyapong, which the team says will not go unanswered.

The campaign accused Dr Bawumia’s followers of hypocrisy, arguing that while the former vice president is often projected as a “peaceful person,” his camp continues to benefit from intimidation, bullying and abusive rhetoric.

The Agyapong campaign further cautioned that it would not allow “reckless defamation” against its candidate to persist.

“Let there be no ambiguity: the Ken Ohene Agyapong Camp knows too much to allow reckless defamation to go unanswered. We respectfully, but firmly advise Dr Bawumia's camp to call their surrogates to order. If they choose instead to drag this campaign into the gutter of personal vilification, they will awaken consequences they will come to regret.

“We remain committed to defending truth, protecting integrity and speaking for the grassroots of our great party. We will continue to preach peace, unity and discipline within the New Patriotic Party but peace must not be mistaken for weakness and unity must not be confused with cowardice,” part of the letter said.
