A lawyer and member of the NDC Communication Team, David Annan says, Assin North MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has breached the conditions of his bond to be of good behaviour.
The outspoken NPP MP who is currently facing charges of treason felony, attempted genocide and terrorism launched a scathing attack on his own party.
He accused the NPP of betraying him when he was arrested and charged with treason for making inciting comments.
Mr. Agyapong was responding to accusations by the Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwah Doe, blaming Mr. Agyapong for the recent communal violence between Ewes and Fantes in the region that led to the death of two people.
Speaking to XYZ News, David Annan said Mr. Agyepong’s latest outburst constitutes a breach of the peace of the country. He is therefore calling on the appropriate authorities to take up the matter.
“This can potentially lead to the breach of peace. If you are attacking the regional minister and using words that are inflammatory to describe her person, I do not think he is being of good behaviour,” he said.
He said from the pronouncements of Mr Agyapong, he breached the terms and should be made to answer for it.
Meanwhile, a leading member of the NPP and counsel for Kennedy Agyapong, Nii Ayikoi Otoo has jumped to the defence of his client. He argued that Mr. Agyapong was provoked beyond measure.
He said Mr. Agyapong was only directly responding to the “unfortunate” comments of the Central Regional Minister, adding that this upset his client who could not hold back his anger.
