Ghana defender Kassim Nuhu insists he feels no pressure despite heightened expectations following his performances at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Germany-based centre back who is playing in his first major tournament with the senior national team, has become a key member of coach Kwesi Appiah’s team.

The 24 year old has repaid the faith reposed in him with two good showings in the draws against Benin and Cameroon.

He missed Ghana’s final Group game against Guinea-Bissau through suspension but will be back for the crucial round of 16 tie against Tunisia.

When quizzed by FootballMadeInGhana.com if he feels any added weight on his shoulders due to the new found belief Ghanaians have in him, Nuhu said;

“No, because I’m ready for this tournament and I prepared really hard for it. I don’t feel any pressure. I’m glad we were able to top our group. But the next round is obviously going to be more difficult so we have to stay focused”

The Black Stars face the Carthage Eagles at the Ismailia Stadium at 7pm on Monday.
