Kasoa Police investigates an alleged assault on a businessman

Accra, June 4, GNA - The Kasoa Police are investigating an alleged assault on Mr Suraj Haruna, Managing Director of Suraj Development Compan y Limited (SDCL) involved in Real Estate Development, Transportation and Agriculture by four personnel of Awutu-Senya District Task Force at the Kasoa market. Police sources told Ghana News Agency that the complainant had been issued with a medical form and was yet to submit the completed form. Explaining his ordeal to GNA Mr Haruna said he went to the market to

buy some items and when returning the personnel pounced on him without an y provocation and later put him in a pick-up. "I could not believe what was happening to me and did not understand

their action because they had only identity cards hanging around their necks". Mr Haruna said in the melee he lost his wrist watch and wallet containing 1,000 dollars, 400 Euros and his son's photograph. He said the personnel drove to the offices of Awutu-Senya District Assembly and reported his arrest to their superior officer but did not ta ke any action. Mr Haruna later reported the incident to the police and the medical

form was issued to him. He appealed to the Police Administration to investigate the assault

for justice to prevail.
