Madam Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, and Minister of Special Development Initiatives, has donated some equipment to the Kasoa Auto Sprayers Association to enhance their work.

The equipment, which were presented on behalf of the Minister by Mr Kojo Anim, a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority, were an electric spraying machine, a manual spraying machine and spraying guns with safety gadgets.

Mr Anim said the donation signifies the long-cherished goodwill of the MP to the 20-member Association to facilitate their work.

“The members of the Association put before the MP their needs and so, as a mother of the Constituency, she ensured that what they ask for were secured for them to enhance their work. This is not going to be the first and the last,” he said.

He said it had been the MP’s quest to improve the performance of the artisans within the Kasoa area, which would include organising workshops and providing packages for them as start-ups.

Mr Anim urged other artisans in the Constituency to organise themselves into associations so that they could also benefit from such interventions.

Mr Winfred K. Kubo, the Chairman of the Kasoa Auto Sprayers Association, who received the items, expressed gratitude to the Minister and gave the assurance that the equipment would be put to good use to encourage the MP to continue to support them.

“I am personally delighted just like the other members because it was not long we requested for such support from the MP and we did not expect that she could respond so swiftly.”

We are grateful to her and we promise to take good care of the machines,” he said.
