Karbo deserves more than 2 terms – NPP Women’s Organizer

The Constituency Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) for Lawra, Madam Ramatu, has stated that the Member of Parliament(MP) for the area, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo deserves more than two terms to do more than he has already chalked.

According to her, the spectacular performance of the former NPP National Youth Organizer in the constituency is historically unmatched calling on the rank and file of the party to show commitment to the development of the area by mandating him at the primaries in April to lead in 2020.

Madam Ramatu together with some colleagues on Thursday February 20, 2020 successfully filed the nomination form for the incumbent MP at the constituency office.

She stated that, they decided to present the form on behalf of Hon Karbo who is also the Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways to show the love and support they have for the ‘first-time’ lawmaker.

In her view, they are mothers who want the very best for the constituency, especially the youth reason they have decided to fully support the sitting MP to get him elected again to Parliament. This she explained will enable him to continue the good initiatives he has started in the constituency, with some completed and others at various levels of completion.

Speaking to Akokoraba Jnr of Lawra FM, she narrated how in just 3 years in office, the Honourable Member of Parliament has been able to undertake various developmental projects dotted across the constituency.

She mentioned some projects such as the construction of the Baapari Clinic, the fencing of the Lawra Municipal Hospital Wall, the various dams sited for construction, the six-unit classroom block for the Lawra Senior High School, the Kuoli and Babile KG Block, about 60 boreholes drilled with 8 fixed and in use. The 52 left awaits installation of pumps with 2 already installed at Furo and Dewo as some achievements of the MP.

The extension of electricity to over 38 communities and still counting. the ongoing construction of the Yipee Market Road, Yagpelle road, Soball Goil road, Market Kulbugnour road and many more are projects she added must not be ignored.

For Madam Ramatu, as a mother and women’s leader, the Tideltaa Women Group is the biggest of all for her, because she understands the plight of most women in supporting the home and the essence of engaging in petty trade. She stated that the Tideltaa women’s group has supported over 1,000 women with small loans to enable them engage in various trades. The group she stated is the brainchild of Hon. Karbo.

According to Madam Ramatu, she was very happy when the MP replaced the very old ‘wretched’ delivery beds of the various clinics in the Municipality with very modern and brand new ones for pregnant women to comfortably deliver on them during childbirth.

She said with such massive developments underway in just 3 years, the sitting MP deserves even two more terms to totally transform the Lawra constituency and appealed to the constituents to work in peace and unity to help elect Karbo back into Parliament.
