Technological advancements, change of value and globalization at the moment is changing the world is through the power of education and as said once by our own kofi Annan, former UN Secretary-General “Education is a human right with immense power to transform, on its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy, and sustainable human development.”
The above pep-talk move and push Kapsong Culture Association-Hamburg in Germany to support Kpong Traditional Council in rebuilding the dilapidate Kpong Presby school as the association aims at supporting and empowering education especially basic education, which is the foundation for a community to develop
According to the chairman of Kapsong Culture Association-Hamburg, Mr. Bernard Agmortey, who is also the owner of Dorhaus Shipping, believes that education is seen as a world concern; it is part of the major ambitions of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations.
Education is defined as a basic human right so Kapsong considers and regards Education as the foundation of sustained development. As testimony and authentication by the United Nations, the three scope of sustainable growth are: social, economic, and environmental.
Education contributes to all three scopes of sustainable development; in addition it gives governance a stronghold and guarantees the security of the individual or a nation.
Again, chairman Bernard Agmortey noted that, as a Dangmes and Krobos as well as Ga’s indigenous domiciled outside Ghana, they wish to see children in their various communities to have the right of education and as a union they will put up every effort to see to it that parents, community leaders and the local authority will pride their policy and agenda on education.
Kapsong Culture Association-Hamburg is a union with a focus that needs all support from members and Ghanaians especially those from Greater Accra in order to change the status-quo of basic education in rural parts of the Greater Accra and Eastern regions of Ghana.
To this end, the secretary of Kapsong Culture Association, Mr. John Teye urge all members to eschew from individualism; rather to collectivism so that the KAPSONG vision will be realized whiles targets or projections can be achieved within a shortest possible time.
