KNUST cancels 2018 graduation ceremony for Postgraduate students

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) will not hold a graduation ceremony for its Master’s Degree students following a change in the academic calendar in view of violent crises that rocked the school, MyNewsGh.com can report.

According to University Relations Officer (URO), Mr. Kwame Yeboah Jnr, the academic board of the university Chaired by Prof. Kwesi Obiri Danso met last week and made the latest decision including a change in the entire academic calendar.

”The academic board met later in the day and the main item on the agenda was the disturbed academic calendar. It was decided that from Monday when lectures begin, the outstanding lectures and the mid-semester exams that were supposed to have taken place during the time of the crises will be taken concurrently. At the time the lectures are going on the mid-semester will also be organized. This the Chairman of the Academic Board asked the Colleges, Departments and Faculties to meet and organize that to see how best these can be reached” he disclosed.

Students are expected back in school on January 4, 2019 to ready themselves for the end of semester examination which begins on January 7, 2019 and ends on January 17, 2019 bringing a close to the first semester.

“ Lectures end with outstanding Mid Semester examination to run concurrently to 19th of December 2018 students will leave for home come back on the 4th January 2019 and write the end of Semester Examination on Monday which is 7th January and it also runs up to 17th of January and they will have the semester break for about two weeks and they will come back and start the second semester”, he added.
