The Minister for Water Resources and Sanitation, Kofi Adda, has revealed plans to develop software to track vehicles that transport Waste to landfill sites to ensure they do not flout the laws.

The Minister made this known when he launched the branding of tricycles popularly called ‘Aboboyaa’ for waste collection in the Kumasi Metropolis.

Branding of the tricycles "Aboboyaa" for waste collection became necessary after complaints by the KMA that some of the riders use the tricycles to cart both food and waste posing health risks to the people.

Henceforth Tricycles that carry waste are to be sprayed 'orange' and those for carting food stuffs ' green'.

At the launch of the branding initiative the Minister for Water Resources and Sanitation, Kofi Adda, acknowledged the role of the 'Aboboyaa' in creating jobs for the youth.

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Elizabeth Agyemang, advised the tricycle riders to be careful on the road and comply with road traffic regulations.
