KATH takes delivery of 8090,000.00 items

Kumasi, April 6, GNA - Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) on Wednesday took delivery of medical items valued at 8090,000.00 to assist enhance the quality of health care provided at the facility. These included 70 electronic control hospital beds, 70 mattresses, 19 wheel chairs, 68 bedside tables, 20 rollaters, 10 intravenous poles and 2,000 pieces of disposable washing towels for new born babies.

The items also included spare parts for the repair and maintenance of the beds.

They were a joint donation from the Ashanti Union of Ghana in Stuttgart, Germany, Evangelische Heimstiftung and the Haus auf der Waldau Stuttgart.

Mr Hubert Agyemang, General Secretary of the Union, who was on hand to present the items at a ceremony in Kumasi, said he was confident that the items would help to significantly improve the quality of health care delivery.

He said they would continue to do everything they could to support the facility. Professor Ohene Agyei, Chief Executive Officer of KATH, receiving the gifts, said they were grateful for the gesture and pledged that they would be used to bring relief to the sick.
