Authorities of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) say in-patients at the facility will continue to receive medical attention despite the ongoing strike by the doctors.
The facility is, however, constrained to admit new patients in view of the total withdrawal of services by members of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA).
Mr Kwame Frimpong, the Public Relations Officer told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Wednesday that patients already on admission were not going to be discharged simply because of the strike.
He said nurses and other medical staff were on hand and providing them with the needed assistance.
The strike by the doctors, he noted, was not only having effect on patients but also crippling the finances of the facility.
Mr Frimpong called for the speedy resolution of the impasse by the parties to bring relief to the sick.
