KAFAFA donates yams to soldiers, police

The Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Northern Regional Police Command have each received 500 tubers of yam from the Kworli Area Farmers and Fishermen Association (KAFAFA) in recognition of their roles to promote peace and order in society.

Naa Alhaji Dawuda Mohammed Jawara, President and Life Patron of KAFAFA, who presented the yams to representatives of the Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Northern Regional Police Command in Tamale on Tuesday, said it was to foster good relations between civilians and the security agencies.

KAFAFA is a cooperative, based in the Zabzugu District of the Northern Region.

Naa Alhaji Mohammed Jawara, who is also Chief of Gbiliga, said the security agencies did a lot for KAFAFA saying the soldiers helped to construct a bridge in the area, which has aided their activities hence the donation to show their gratitude.

Captain Nathaniel Asamoah, Public Relations Officer of the Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, thanked KAFAFA for recognizing the efforts of the security agencies in the district pledging to continue to work to promote peace and development in the area.
