The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has clarified details of the party’s 2023 Disciplinary Committee report concerning flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong.
Speaking in an interview on Net 2 TV, Kodua recalled that the committee summoned Kennedy Agyapong over his “showdown” comment, which the party considered inappropriate.
“When Kennedy Agyapong made that comment about a showdown, the party wasn’t happy about it.
“I personally called him and told him to his face that he didn’t speak well. I informed him I would take him to the disciplinary committee and he acknowledged it. When he appeared before the committee, they cautioned him, reminding him that he is a leader of the party and should not speak in such a manner again,” the NPP General Secretary explained.

Meanwhile, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has accused Justin Kodua of withholding the committee’s report.
According to Abronye, the disciplinary committee had submitted a report that recommended sanctions against Kennedy Agyapong for alleged anti-party conduct.
“The 2023 disciplinary report recommended that Kennedy Agyapong should be sacked from the NPP because he is damaging the party and engaging in anti-party behaviour. But Justin Kodua is sitting on the report and protecting him,” Abronye claimed.
He further alleged that the report identified Kennedy Agyapong, the former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, as a key figure undermining the party’s image.
Speaking on his Ohia TV show on September 29, 2025, Abronye said, “Justin Kodua is the one saving him. Assin Dompo, the destroyer who sold the NPP’s seat to A Plus… The report is with Justin Kodua, and he is sitting on it. He is the only person who knows why he is keeping it. There will come a time when we will ask him about it. The party has structures, so why would he keep the report to himself instead of presenting it to the national executives or council?”
While Abronye insists the report recommended Kennedy Agyapong’s dismissal, Justin Kodua maintains that the committee only cautioned the Assin Central politician and reminded him of his leadership responsibilities.
