Justice Acquah to appear before Appointments Committee

The Appointments Committee of Parliament would on Wednesday, July 2, vet Mr Justice Kingsley Acquah, the President's nominee for the position of Chief Justice of Ghana.

Mr Justice Acquah was nominated following the voluntary retirement of Chief Justice, Mr Justice Edward Kwame Wiredu.

Mr Felix Owusu-Agyapong, Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs announced this when he presented the Business Statement for the ninth week, ending Friday, July 4, 2003.

He said 14 ordinary questions and an urgent one had been slated for the Minister of Health, Minister of Roads and Transport and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.

During the week the Local Government Service Bill, Juvenile Justice Bill, Postal Services Regulatory Bill, Labour Bill and Financial Administration Bill would go through their various stages of passage.
