Jubilee House to become a Poultry Farm ?

Mr. Danquah Ekow Smith, Deputy Central Regional Minister has added his voice to the controversial jubilee house, saying that he has plans to import chicken into the edifice and would make sure that President Atta Mills takes very good care of them.

"Yes I am importing chicken into the jubilee house and make sure that the president's dream becomes a reality," he noted.

He was speaking on Hot Fm an Accra based radio station last week.

According to the Minister, people calling on President Mills to move into the Jubilee House to relax should exercise maximum restraint, since he was negotiating with both local and overseas poultry farmers in order to get better and affordable chickens to be imported into the country.

He recalled that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2008 elections indicated that it would turn the jubilee house on which the previous government spent almost $80,000,000 into a poultry farm should they come to power.

“Since the president has decided to move in as his palace forgetting the poultry farming plan, I will make sure his dreams come true by changing the place into a poultry farm,” he stated.

He further explained that, the President and his Cabinet has come to a conclusion that they would move into the house because the organization that helped Ghana to build the palace has plans to withdraw its continued assistance to Ghana should President Mills refused to move into the palace.
