Joy FM’s Araba Koomson using me to be popular – Former Maritime Boss

Joy Fm’s News Editor, Araba Koomson appears to have touched the wrong nerves of the former Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA), Mr Kwame Owusu as he keeps mentioning her name in his public discourse.

Mr. Kwame Owusu who recently spoke to Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana monitored by MyNewsGh.com accused the journalist of trying to use him in order to become popular.

He revealed that she is a young girl who is trying to make a name for herself for which reason he will spare her but indicated that same cannot be accepted of the President of think tank, IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe

“A comedian who makes a comment like this is an acceptable norm. A young girl who is in joy FM trying to make name for herself, I can accept that. Araba Koomson can bash me because she wants to make name”, he revealed on the show.

It would be recalled that the female journalist in November last year was subjected to a barrage of attacks by maverick politician Kennedy Agyapong for airing stories about the embattled Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA), Mr Kwame Owusu who is his close pal.

Mr Kennedy Agyapong who did not hide his close relationship with Mr Owusu used unprintable words to describe the journalist whose only crime was airing news items about his ‘Darling Boy’ after documents

When reminded by the host Osei Bonsu he was on live radio and therefore needed to be civil and polite in his choice of words as observed by MyNewsGh.com, he appeared more infuriated and went personal on the female news editor of the Multimedia Group.

“The journalists are accusing him of going overboard if I was the one I would have said more because I saw Araba. Someone sent the news video from US to me…I saw Araba Joy TV saying these are the kind of people we use our taxpayers’ money them…excuse me Araba! How much is your meager pay”. He quizzed.
