Journalists urged to educate Ghanaians on patriotism

Sogakope, (V/R), May 25, GNA - The Minister of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Major Courage Quashigah, (rtd) on Monday urged journalists to educate Ghanaians on the significance of patriotism to national development.

He observed that the greatest obstacle to progress was the insatiable desire for immediate gains and the lack of commitment to national development by some people.

Major Quashigah who was speaking at a five-day strategic planning workshop for directors of the Ministry at Sogakope said citizens dedicated to national development would be rewarded. He, therefore, appealed to media personnel to focus on patriotic citizens and bring them into the limelight.

Major Quashigah said by over-focusing on perceived negative developments, the media was denying the nation the benefits of good examples adding that great nations were built by generations of people whose only motivation was to be immortalised in the contributions they made to nation building.
