Jomoro Bank Donates Sports Equipment To Schools

The Jomoro Rural Bank at Tikobo Number One has presented sporting equipment valued at ?1.2 million to the District Education office at Half-Assini as its contribution towards the promotion of sports in the District. The items included 16 pairs of jerseys, 16 pairs of boots and a pair of gloves. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.. Ebba Asamoah and Mr.. Alex Cudjoe, both members of the Board of Directors of the Bank said the donation follows an appeal by the District Education office to the Bank for assistance. They gave the assurance that the bank will continue to assist the people in its catchment area to enable them to improve upon their standards of living. Two Board Members of the Bank, Mr.. Francis Papakyi Acquah and Mr.. M. B. N. Yankey, presented the items to Mr.. Isaac Erzuah, the District Director of Education, Mr.. Erzuah thanked the bank for its kind gesture and asked other organisations to do the same. The Headmaster of the Half-Assini Secondary School. Mr.. somiah Addae, who chaired the function, hoped the donation will encourage athletes to bring more laurels to the District. He appealed to the bank to grant loans to workers and assist the people to establish small-scale industries now that the area has been connected to the national grid.
