John Jinapor charges new GRIDCo board to strengthen national grid

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, has inaugurated the newly reconstituted board of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo).

During the inaugural ceremony, Jinapor charged the new board to strengthen the national grid in order to improve power transmission across the country.

“Rising power demand requires continuous expansion of generation and transmission capacity. There is a critical need to strengthen the grid with additional infrastructure to evacuate power efficiently and reliably. I urge you to use your collective expertise and experience to provide strategic direction, sound governance, and innovative solutions,” he stated.

Speaking on behalf of the board, Chairperson Kuukua Maurice Ankrah expressed the board's commitment to the task ahead, pledging to work diligently to meet the government’s objectives.

She emphasised the importance of GRIDCo in ensuring reliable power transmission and supporting Ghana's economic development.

The members of the board are:

- Mark Awuah Baah (Managing Director)

- Daniel Atchule

- Joshua Anaman Sackey

- Muhammed Bashiru Nii Narh Alema

- Solomon Kuyon

- Joseph Kwame Kumah
