Jealous husband arrested

A jealous husband who physically attacked another man he suspected is romantically involved with his wife is now in trouble with the law.

Nana Osei, 29, was on Friday, put before the Nyinahin Magistrate Court charged with assault and causing harm.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of GHC10, 000 to reappear on Monday, March 4.

Police Detective Sergeant Jonas Adjei told the court presided over by Mr Sam Nibi that the complainant, Akwasi Darko, lives at the Mpatuom community with the accused and his wife.

On January 20, Osei’s wife approached Darko with a request for financial assistance but he declined.

Moments after she had left, the accused followed up to the complainant’s house and sought from him where his wife was.

The prosecution said a misunderstanding ensued with Osei accusing him of having an illicit love affair with his spouse.

Later, that same day, Darko decided to visit a friend and whilst on his way he was violently attacked by Osei without provocation.

He reportedly hit him in the nose with an object, resulting in a cut and profuse bleeding.

The prosecution said a formal report was made to the police and he was arrested.
