Japanese Ambassador inspects Volta Region projects

Ho, Oct 26, GNA - Mr Masamichi Ishikawa, the Japanese Ambassador in Ghana who is on a two-day visit to the Volta Region, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Mr Kofi Dzamesi, the Volta Regional Minister. The visit is to inspect projects funded with Japanese grants. The Ambassador will also visit Japanese citizens in the region who are teaching in some senior secondary schools. He will also move to the Eastern Region to continue with the inspection of Japanese funded projects.

"The government of Japan has cancelled a one-billion-dollar debt owed by Ghana and will continue to support the country in its development programmes", he said. Mr Dzamesi enumerated the tourism potentials in the region and called for assistance to develop the industry.
