Jake Admits Wikileaks’ On Nana Addo Damaging

Silence means consent as the adage agrees, but the stony silence of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey has been too laud to ignore when his party as well as its beleaguered Flagbearer, Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo have come under serious attack, following reports presently dousing him into the declassified US diplomatic cables.

Even though the various splitter groups in the NPP, particularly the Young Patriots in their disdainful efforts have tried and continue to suffer as they embark on image-saving mission of the party’s Flagbearer over the reports, many party members think the Chairman’s silence is having a catastrophic effect on the party, and most especially, on its leader.

According to this paper’s “leaks” at the NPP’s National Headquarters in Accra, there nearly generate a brawl between the youth at the party’s headquarters over an altercation about the call by some members belonging to ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor’s Ashanti-grouping for an early congress, so to withdraw Nana Akufo-Addo as the Flagbearer of the NPP, running up to the 2012 elections. By The Informer’s “leaks”, the party’s National Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey was not spared by the aggrieved youth that gathered at the NPP headquarters, saying his stony silence, or better stated, absolute refusal to defend his Flagbearer over the Wikileaks reports is a stab in the heart of the party and Akufo-Addo, in particular.

This paper has it that, the pa rty youth activists have expressed total shock about the silent approach adopted by Mr. Jake Obestebi-Lamptey in this Wikileaks tango, where the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) seems to have gained an upper-hand over the reports that, Nana Akufo Addo uses drugs and womanizes a lot. “In fact, the posture of our party Chairman in this matter is a tacit confirmation that reports as released in the latest US diplomatic cables on Nana Addo as hard-drug addict; being arrogant and womanizes a lot must be true”, they lamented.

“Unlike he used to defend ex-President John Agyekum when he was his campaign manager, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey has still not spoken to the issues as captured in the Wikileaks about Nana Addo, the Flagbearer; and this development is very disturbing and could affect the fortunes of the party come 2012”, the worried youth complained to one leading member of the party, who was at the National Headquarters on a fact-finding mission, following reports carried out days a go of how the Ashanti caucus in the party was pushing strongly for Akufo-Addo’s removal, courtesy an early congress since their Flagbearer’s credibility has been so damaged by the reports.

However, it is alleged that the National Chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi–Lamptey has confided in one of the party’s financiers that, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo with his credibility problem, will make things difficult for them.

Thanks to Mr. Julian Assange and his whistle-blowing website for making Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey for once, to confess that the Wikileaks reports on his party Flagbearer were damaging, hence his stony silence.
