Jackson College makes massive donation to Ashanti Regional Police

Jackson College of Education (JEC), Ghana’s leading private college of education has donated assorted office equipment to the Ashanti Regional Police Command.

The donation which forms part of the college’s corporate social responsibility was to enhance efficiency in the work of the police.

They included a double decker refrigerator, photocopier, air conditioner, boxes of A 4 sheets and curtains.

Mrs. Theodosia Jackson, Principal of the college at a brief presentation ceremony said, the donation is as a result of her recent visit to the Criminal Investigation Department recently.

She added that she was moved by the conditions in which the peace officers were working and decided to extend a helping hand.

The police, she noted, sacrificed a lot to provide security for the citizenry and needed to be adequately resourced to effectively discharge their duties.

She said the public is quick to condemn the police in the event of a blunder but refuses to recognize their sacrifices to protect lives and properties at the peril of their own lives.

Mrs. Jackson encouraged other public-spirited organizations and individuals to support the police in their efforts to combat crime.

DCOP Fred Adu Anim, the Deputy Regional Police Commander who received the items applauded Mrs. and Prof. Jackson for their kind gesture. He said even in the face of numerous challenges, the police would continue to protect lives and properties.

The deputy regional commander furter called on other organizations to support them in the delivery of their services to the good people of Ghana.
