Ivorian rebels living near Ghana border?

Some of the Ivorian rebels, fighting to overthrow the government in La Cote d?Ivoire, have drawn closer to the Ghana border in the Bole district of the Northern Region. They can be found along the banks of the Chache River, which divides the Ghana and Cote d?Ivoire border.

According to the CHRONICLE, the presence of the rebel soldiers at Gbona and Bole does not threaten the lives there.

The officer in charge of the Ghana Immigration Service at the border post, Senior Inspector Seth Nortey, said the border security has been tightened to make sure no single ammunition is smuggled into the Ivorian territory.

Ghanaian security personnel were found patrolling along the borders of Ghana to ensure no enemy crosses into the country.
