Ivorian Leader departs

Accra, Oct 19, GNA - Mr Laurant Gbagbo the Ivorian leader this evening left Accra after a day's visit, during which he participated in talks to resolve the disagreement arising out of the implementation of the Accra Peace Accord.

The talks, which took place at Akosombo, were a follow-up to several peace discussions aimed at finding solutions to the disagreement that have arisen out of the power sharing agreement for Cote d'Ivoire, which was brokered in Accra.

At the Airport to see him off were President John Agyekum Kufuor, ECOWAS Chairman and Nana Akuffo Addo, Minster of Foreign Affairs.

Ivorian President Gbagbo arrives for peace talks

Accra, Oct. 19, GNA - Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo arrived in Accra on Sunday to attend talks aimed at finding a solution to disagreements arising out of the implementation of the Accra Peace Accord on his country's powering sharing government. President John Agyekum Kufuor and some Ministers met President Gbagbo at the airport.

Foreign Minister Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said the talks, which would take place at Akosombo, are a follow up to efforts to resolve differences that have arisen out of the power sharing agreement brokered in March, this year.

Nana Akufo-Addo appealed to the sides in the disagreement to co-operate to ensure peace in Ivory Coast. Already in Accra are Opposition leader, Mr Alasane Ouatarra and Mr Guillame Soro, leader of the former insurgents, who control the north of the country.
