President Akufo-Addo has said it’s unfortunate that one of his fierce critics over the years, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu has passed on so early into his rule as the Leader of the country.

According to him, he would have loved to have the former senior journalist around to serve as a check on the activities of his government to ensure that it does the right thing and improve on the living conditions of Ghanaian.

“Bature is a staunch critic and it’s a pity that he’s no longer here to keep me and everything we’re doing on our toes. But it is God that has taken him away so we wish them all safe, mercy and rest in the Almighty.”

The late Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj Newspaper Alhaji Bature was buried, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Madina Cemetery in Accra.

The veteran journalist died a fortnight ago at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment after a short illness.

Alhaji Bature was a staunch supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) but was a fierce critic of the party’s founder, Ex President Jerry John Rawlings.
