Israel commends Ghana security for rescuing bus

Accra, Oct. 31, GNA - Israel has expressed gratitude to the Ghanaian security services for the prompt and professional manner in which they rescued an Israeli businessman kidnapped in Accra a few days ago in Accra.

Dror Weinstein, 60-year-old Israeli businessman, was lured into the country on the October 15 by a gang of Nigerian fraudsters and kidnapped on October 19. He was rescued by national security operatives on October 29.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency by the National Security Council Secretariat said the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, who is resident in Abuja, Nigeria, commended the Ghanaian security for rescuing Weinstein. The rescue followed an intensive search by a task force set up by the National Security Coordinator, Dr Sam Amoo, after a complaint by representatives of the Israeli government a day after the kidnapping. The National Security Chief said so far two suspects, both Nigerians, have been arrested. They are Sampson Ojanomare and Clifford Ogheneovo Osiebe while other members of the gang are being pursued. 31 Oct. 08
