Isaac Asiamah is problematic – Felix Kwaakye Ofosu

A leading member of pro-NDC loyalists group Research and Advocacy Platform (RAP), Felix Kwaakye Ofosu has called on Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, Albert Kan Dapaah to restrain some members on the Committee against making unsubstantiated statements.

Mr. Kwaakye Ofosu singled out Committee member Isaac Kwame Asiamah who is also Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua, describing him as problematic in terms of his conduct.

He accused the MP as well as some of his colleagues from the NPP side on the committee, of going out of their way and make conclusive statements about individuals who appear before the PAC.

Speaking Saturday on Joy News weekly current affairs program News File which was also broadcast on Joy Fm, Felix Kwaakye Ofosu noted, such comments do not engender public trust in the committee, resulting in the attacks the it receives from certain quarters of the public.

He said if the PAC failed to bring those MPs to order, individuals who appear before it will adopt every available strategy to defend their image when they (MPs) make unsubstantiated comments about them.

Meanwhile, Deputy Greater Accra Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Mike Ocquaye Jnr. holds a different view, as he praised the PAC of doing a "fantastic job" including investigating into the payment of “the unconstitutional judgment debts” to certain persons.
