Inventor of fibre optics launches book in Ghana

Ghana continues to become the Gateway of Africa and as such there is influx of foreign investors. The One district, One Factory Policy implemented is one of main reasons.

Ghanaian American Inventor of Fiber Optics; Dr. Thomas Mensah is currently in Ghana for a business tour and has been busy promoting his vision for the High Speed Rail line which will create more jobs and businesses.

While in Ghana, he has become the talk of the town and constantly being sought after for interviews in the media circles.

Earlier on his trip, he delivered a lecture at the renowned Kwame Nkrumah University and Technology (KNUST) and was subsequently honored with D.Sc Honoraris Causa.

This great son of Ghana has paid many courtesy calls on high profile personalities like; Vice President Bawumia and former Presidents; Kufour and Rawlings respectively.

On Thursday, December 14, 2017, he launched his book; "The Right Stuff Comes In Black Too" at the City Escape Hotel, Airport, Accra.

Powered by Kingdom Books & Stationary and the theme, ‘One Night of a Great Inventor, a Sir and a Prolific Reader".

The book captures the inspiring story of how Dr Thomas Mensah’s innovation ignited the modern-day internet’s explosive growth.

He noted in the book that one’s race has nothing to do with the person’s ability to impact the world. Over 120 dignitaries participated and Key Sponsors were; P Mobile, Zoomlion and Zenith Bank. In a dramatic fashion which caught attendees by surprise, a flying drone delivered the first book that was auctioned a the event.

In his keynote address; Dr. Mensah inspired the audience to reach their goals in their lives that all things are possible with focus and determination. To climax the occasion, a cake with the "Right Stuff Comes in Black Too" was delivered. Dignitaries who joined the cake cutting ceremony were; Mr. Krobo Edusei Jr., Dr. Sam Mensah (A school mate) and Phil Brobbey of P. Mobile.

A Known History Fact

He is a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, USA, a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and associate fellow and technical director region II of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

He was awarded 7 US Patents over the short period of Six years. He is the Author of 4 Books on Innovation including Fiber Optics Engineering (1987), Superconductor Engineering (1992) and his autobiography, The Right Stuff Comes in Black Too (2013) as well as Nanotechnology Commercialization, International Text Book ( 2017).
