Inusah Hands Over Rawlings' "Gift" to BNI

The former Campaign Manager of the NPP, Alhaji Issaka Inusah has handed over a vehicle given to him by former President Rawlings to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI). The Rawlings’ gave the Nissan Patrol vehicle to Alhaji Inusah when he defected from the NPP to the NDC last year. He was to use the vehicle for the electoral campaign and return it after the elections. Inusah however continued to use the car after the elections.

Having organized a press conference during which he announced his return to the ruling Party, the Rawlings sent a driver to Inusah’s residence to collect the vehicle. Inusah is reported to have received the driver who was accompanied by his colleague and asked them to wait on his porch whilst he went indoors to bring the keys.

On getting indoors, he phoned the BNI to “come for a strange vehicle” on his premises. The BNI responded and arrived at his residence a few minutes later leaving the driver of the Rawlings’ with no option than to go back and inform his masters.

The Rawlings’, obviously displeased with Inusah’s behaviour sent NDC Deputy Treasurer, Baba Kamara to the BNI with all documents covering the vehicle, which was registered in the name of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings. Surprisingly Baba Kamara who secured the vehicle from the BNI also failed to hand it over to the Rawlings’.

Baba Kamara could however not be reached for his side of the story.
