International seminar on Qigong teachings/healing to begin in Accra

Accra, June 16, GNA - Supreme Science Qigong Foundation, a non-profit Non Governmental Organization based in Miami, Florida in US is to hold a four-day international seminar on the teachings and healing of Qigong, an ancient old form of natural therapy in Ghana. The event will provide participants with practices to boost their metabolism and immune system for greater wellness as well as promote weight loss and increase efficiency of the cardiovascular system.

It will be held at the Ramada Resort (formerly Coco Beach) at Nungua in Accra from 19 to 22 of June.

It is the first time such an international seminar on Qigong will be held in Africa, Ms Jocelyn Brock, an

international Qigong teacher told the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday. Qigong practice, she said also "increases the energy level while decreasing stress, both mentally and

physically," noting that the benefits of Qigong have been scientifically studied around the world and it is

now being utilized in hospitals and medical facilities alone and in collaboration with conventional

medical protocols. The four-day event is to be held in collaboration with One Africa Health Resort and Wellness Centre

in Elmina in Ghana through the initiative of Mrs IMAHK=DCS Okofu Ababio ( from One Africa), who is an

avowed proponent of Qigong and holistic wellness having repatriated to Gh ana more than 20 years ago. Ms Brock said over 200 people are expected to attend saying "Qigong is a powerful and empowering

practice that when practiced in a large group, creates an understanding o f the connection that exists

between all people, all races, all beings in this world". As the lead Supreme Science Qigong facilitator, Ms Brock will lead participants through practices

such as breath empowerment, Level 1, 2 and 3 Qigong forms, internal Qigon g healing meditation, food

healing, 9 breadth methods and many other practices. The first 50 participant will pay 50 US dollars and 99 US dollars thereafter or its Ghana Cedi

equivalent. The proceeds to be realized will be used to construct a bore hole at Elmina in the Central

Region. Mrs Okofu Ababio in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said she is a living witness and a

beneficiary of Qigong practice, after she suffered a shoulder dislocation .. She said "We have so much in and around us that we can use to mainta in our health and our spiritual

development. Use Qigong and have a good health". Support Life International, a Ghanaian organization whose founder, Issah Adams, holds a vision to

open up the world to a greater awareness of the benefits of natural heali ng and holistic practices for

wellness is also collaborating with Supreme Science. The Founder of Supreme Science Qigong, Mr Jeff Primack has a vision to share Qigong as a means not

only to bring the healing aspects of Qigong but also create at Qigong events, an opportunity for

participants to share an experiential shift from separation consciousness .. The "Qi" in Qigong means air in Chinese that provides life force and

dynamic energy whiles, "Gong"

means work or discipline which then results in a level of skill and benef it to those dedicated to

integrating Qigong into their daily lives.
