Interdict 14 SSNIT officials - SFO directs management

In its top story, the Daily Graphic reports that the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has directed the management of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to interdict 14 of its officials with immediate effect.

This is to enable the SFO to conduct investigations referred to it by the Board of SSNIT in a case involving a number of officials and some consultants and contractors in the award, implementation and execution of the Ghana Industrial and Commercial Estates Limited (GICEL) project at Weija, near Accra.

The Graphic names the affected officials as Mr Paddy Sawyerr, former GICEL Board chairman, Mr David Quagraine, former acting managing director (GICEL), Mrs Valerie Quarmyne, former general manager (administration), Ms Joana Dickson, former acting general manager (operations) and chairperson of SSNIT tender committee, and Mr John Narku-Tetteh, former member of the tender committee.

Others are Mrs Pearl Osafo-Adu, Mr Eric Homadi, Mr Winslaw Anim-Addo, Mr Daniel Essel and Mr Kojo Kerr- Rabbles, all former members of the tender committee. The rest are Mrs Souad Yahaya, Mr Francis Kwantwi, Mr Samuel Appiah Dadey, ad Mrs Akosua Sarpong, and also members of the committee.
