Institutions needs to improve on their risk management decisions - UPSA Pro Vice-Chancellor

As part of improving risk management and decision making, The Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Charles Barnor has called on institutions to consider the usage of quantitative techniques in their assessment of risk.

He was speaking to Ghanaweb on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Africa Convention in Quantitative Methods and Risk Management, held on August 13 2019.

On the importance of the workshop to the participants and their various institutions, Mr Barnor said “they should be able to enhance their skills in using data in decision making for corporate entities and corporate Ghana, and for those who come from the sub-regions, they should be able to take back some of the lessons learnt here in assisting industry participants, to be able to make decisions based on data and not just intuition”.

The program was the start of a four-day workshop to improve risk management skills of personnel in the financial sector particularly. The event was held at UPSA in Accra.
