Install traffic signals - Adenta Commander

Chief Superintendent Martin Ayiih, the Adenta Divisional Commander, has called for the installation of traffic signals on the Madina-Pantang Highway to help reduce the current spate of road crashes.

He said the delay in installing such requisite signals has led to the occurrence of many unfortunate but avoidable incidents.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, on Tuesday, Chief Superintendent Ayiih said “currently pedestrians are competing with vehicles, as they seek to cross the road, leading to many road crashes”.

He expressed concern about the delay in the construction of the main Madina-Pantang Highway and called for the early completion of footbridges mounted at vantage points of the highway to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

He expressed happiness that the bush around the main highway is being cleared, saying, the effort should be sustained for pedestrians and drivers to have a clear view as they use the road.

“As there are no traffic lights, both pedestrians and drivers need to be mindful, when using the Highway”, he said.
