Inovlve Private Sector In Economic Reforms - Ashong

Ho, (Volta Reion) 2 Oct., Government has been urged to involve private entrepreneurs in the designing and implementation of economic reforms to solicit greater support. Dr S. M. Nii Noi Ashong of the Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA) said this today in a paper on ''Sound democratic governance: a basis for genuine private sector development'' at the annual general conference of the Ghana Bar Association at Ho. Dr Ashong said there should be established mutually agreed rules of the game such as a credible legal and judicial framework supported by the private sector and economic rights. The mutually agreed rules should include clearly defined roles of the offices of the Chief Justice, Supreme Court, Attorney General and Minister of Justice. He also called for reforms in the public sector as well as the civil service apparatus.
