If NDC Wants To Focus On Sexual Misconduct...

...Prez Mills & His Vice Are Perfect Examples - Akomeah

The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has laughed off a publication in today’s edition of the “Daily Post” newspaper purporting to show NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, "fondling" a woman and has served notice that the NPP will not stop to bring to the fore the issue of President Mills' child out of wedlock and his Veep's numerous amorous affairs if the governing party believes Nana Addo's "groping" photos can be used as a yardstick to measure the morality of public officers.

The “Daily Post” newspaper on Wednesday, February 15th, published a photograph together with a YouTube link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9NE9Wp_PuQ - which captures Nana Addo allegedly “groping and fondling a make-up artist of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) after she had completed preparing him for a programme.”

According to the publication, “soon after the lady had finished her job of working on his (Nana Addo’s) face before he goes before the cameras, Akufo-Addo, while getting up, groped the mid-section of the lady and fondled her in a matter of split seconds before moving away.”

Explaining the rationale behind the publication, Editor of the newspaper, Mike Dokosi said it was to establish the point that the NPP flagbearer is a womanizer.

According to him, several stories published portraying Nana Addo as a womanizer have been pooh-poohed by NPP loyalists thus the “Daily Post” has now produced photos and a video on ‘YouTube.com’ to back their claims.

But in a sharp riposte on AdomFM, Nana Akomea, who is also the NPP MP for Okaikoi South, pointed out that “extra marital affairs of President Mills and the sordid and numerous amorous relationship existing between his Vice President John Mahama” and other women are rather the perfect reference to sexual misconducts on the part of politicians.

Whiles expressing incredulity that the Tema-based commercial radio station will call him in the early hours of the morning to respond to a story churned out by a “propagandist newspaper”, Nana Akomea decried how some section of the media are reducing politics to nothingness and trying to bar politicians from showing their affections.

“Are they trying to say that because one is an MP or a public figure he can’t hug a lady?...For some of us we don’t want to talk about morality (and leave pressing issues that confront the country to the back-burner), but if the NDC wants to go on this tangent, we are ready to match them squarely…Can they boldly tell us who the mother of President Mills’ son is? Should we bring it to the governance table that President Mills was involved in extra marital affair? Is that what they want?... There are better things to be discussed but it seems the NDC wants us to deal with such a story and that is so sad. If you can go gaga over Nana Addo holding someone’s waist or mid-section, what then will be your reaction about a president who spurned his marital vows to bring home a child and that of his vice (John Mahama) and the amorous relationship with his numerous partners?” he asked.
